Let's Start
Enid Mary Blyton (1897-1968) is one of the most popular British children's authors of all times. Her works include series of novels in which children have their own adventures with minimal adult help. The most popular among these are The Famous Five, based on four children and their dog, and The Secret Seven, a society of seven children who solve various mysteries. This text is an edited version of her short story The Adventurous Clown.

Writing Activities
A Boat Journey
Last week, on a beautiful moonlit night, four of us friends went on a boat journey. Our small boat gently floated on the wide river. The rippling sound of the water was very soothing to our ears. There was a dense, dark forest on either side of the river. The mysterious shadows and the cool breeze made the thrill of the journey unforgettable for all of us.
A Night with Tuffy
If I spent a night with Tuffy in the toy shop, it would be very exciting. First, I would stop Tuffy from doing silly things just to become a hero. We would sit peacefully on the toy shelf, talk to Timothy the dog, and watch the grand race of the wooden horses. We would play together safely until the morning sun came up.
