The casement all day,

রাস্তার নিচে আরও হাজার পাতার সাথে ফেলে দেয়।

Autumn (Class 9 English) - FAQs

The poem presents a beautiful pen-picture of the mellow beauty of autumn in the English countryside. The poet celebrates the subtle, melancholic charm of the season, describing falling leaves, bare branches, and the activities of birds and animals during dull November days.

The poet loves how the fitful gust shakes the window casement all day and strips the faded leaves from the mossy elm-tree, twirling them beautifully past the window pane and down the lane.

The cheerful chirping of the sparrow on the cottage rig creates a comforting illusion that spring is just flirting by, and summer is not too far away with its warm lap full of flowers.

In the poem, the grunting pigs wait under the oak trees. When the acorns fall pattering down the tree, the pigs immediately scramble and hurry to eat them.
